Craig isn’t just keeping up with the future of creative work; he’s helping shape it.
As a Lead AI Creative at Designity, he brings together a background in art and design with a sharp curiosity for new tools, smarter workflows, and bold ideas.
From node-based systems to collaborative problem-solving, Craig approaches AI as something that expands creativity rather than replaces it.
He’s thoughtful, inventive, and always ready to explore what’s possible.
Let’s dive into Craig’s mindset, experiences, and the ideas and inspo behind his work.

Creative Roots & New Frontiers

Before AI entered the picture, Craig was already drawn to art, making, and the kind of creativity that starts young and sticks.
These questions explore how that early spark grew into a career shaped by curiosity and constant evolution:
1. What first drew you to design, and when did you realize this was something you wanted to pursue long-term?
I was always interested in fine arts and creating things from a young age. Later, when I realized it could become a career, I was immediately drawn to it and naturally moved toward design.
2. As an AI Creative Lead, what part of your role energizes you the most right now?
Having a curious mind really helps in the age of AI, and I think the idea of always having something new to try, learn, and adapt to is what keeps me energized.
Rethinking the Creative Process

This section gets into the mindset, experiments, and breakthroughs behind the way Craig works:
3. What’s been one of the most exciting or surprising breakthroughs you’ve experienced while working with AI in design?
I would say the most exciting personal breakthrough I’ve had is the realization that your ideas are no longer limited by your physical skills, and now your concepts can be truly limitless.
4. As someone who specializes in node-based workflows and AI-driven design tools, how have these technologies changed the way you approach creative problem-solving?
Well, it does not take away from design thinking or traditional problem-solving, but AI gives you a kind of “partner” that can help you answer the question in front of you or look at the problem from different angles.
I think the biggest mindset shift happens in the idea itself. Each node becomes a path you create toward your desired outcome.
Your creative flow starts to feel more like a mind map you can actually see and experience, rather than something you have to keep entirely in your head.
5. What advice would you give creatives who want to explore AI tools without losing their creative voice?
Yes, this is a hot topic at the moment, and the struggle can be real.
I always advise any Creative who is starting with AI to have a goal in mind, because the hardest part about having “something that can do almost anything” is knowing what that something should be.
Start small. Try it on one part of a project first, and you will soon begin to find more ways to use AI.
Collaboration, Community & Creative Trust

Here, Craig shares how collaboration, honesty, and community shape the way he works with teams and clients:
6. You’ve worked with agencies, in-house teams, and brands of all sizes. How has that shaped your approach to collaboration and brand storytelling?
I think the variety of people I’ve had the privilege of working with has had the biggest influence on how I approach collaboration and branding.
Just like people, each brand has a story and an identity that needs to be discovered and expressed.
7. You’ve worked in environments similar to Designity's before. What makes Designity different from other creative teams you’ve worked with?
Yes, being an introvert, remote work has been a blessing for my social awkwardness.
But seriously, what makes Designity different is how genuinely invested it is in its people.
You really feel like part of a community, and you feel comfortable raising any concern or suggestion without fear of judgment.
8. How do you bring teams together when working on AI-driven projects that might feel unfamiliar or intimidating to some designers?
I usually start by bringing AI into the exploration phase early, running small prompt tests together, showing how different inputs affect outputs, and making the workflow as transparent as possible.
Once people see they’re still leading the creative decisions and AI is simply supporting speed, scale, and exploration, the intimidation tends to fade and the process becomes much more collaborative.
Inspiration Beyond the Workflow

Creative energy has a way of showing up in unexpected places, both on and off the clock.
These questions reveal the interests, habits, and ideas that keep Craig inspired and looking ahead:
9. Since you enjoy both LEGO building and AI, if you could build your own AI tool for designers, what would it do?
I’d love the chance to build an AI tool that gives designers random, obscure topics to explore, then asks them to interpret those ideas in an abstract way using LEGO.
For example, it could challenge you to build something inspired by a concept as unexpected as bluegrass.
10. How do you keep creativity and communication flowing in a remote environment?
I think this is an easy one to answer. Honesty is the only way.
You need to be honest if you can’t handle a project, and say so as early as possible to avoid unnecessary bottlenecks. Be honest if something is unclear.
Be honest if you need help or if you can help anyone else. Only through honesty can creativity and collaboration flow.
11. Outside of work, you enjoy LEGO building and gaming. Do those hobbies shape the way you think about design and systems?
Yes, definitely. I love games that are visually rich and have great stories.
They help take me out of reality and let me step into someone else’s world, which can be really helpful when I’m stuck in a creative block on a project.
