Branding a Sustainable Future

Defining a brand isn’t an easy task, especially when we consider that a company’s brand identity is the nucleus to all of their future marketing and sales efforts. After sifting through the freelance marketplace and working with an in-house creative, Boomerang Water was ready to explore a different type of creative solution.

Jean Andzulis, Director of Special Projects, onboarded with Designity in the hopes that we would be able to make their brand vision a reality. Under the creative direction of Ruggero, Boomerang was able to not only have their creative vision realized, but also create something lasting and unique.

Boomerang water is an innovative solution to single-use plastics. Their bottling system is a patented, semi-automated filtration and sanitizing system that uses returnable bottles to keep their clients environmentally friendly. 

Veteran founded and owned, their vision is to disrupt the big beverage industry with a zero-waste solution to the world’s plastic pollution problem. 

They were searching for a creative partner that truly understood their vision and went above and beyond to create the future of sustainable bottling with them. 

Finding the vision.

Initially, Boomerang did what most companies do when they have creative projects: explore the freelance marketplace. They quickly realized that working with freelancers created inconsistencies and that they lacked the vision necessary to take on a branding project like this one. 

After spending time in the freelance marketplace, Boomerang decided to test out an in-house designer. They found that while their in-house designer was great with PR and Communications, they were not as strong in marketing and branding assets. 

This eventually led to Boomerang trying something new: Designity. 

As a quickly growing company, Boomerang needed to define and expand their branding. In order to do this, they needed to complete their brand style guidelines and add a sales dec. They also needed a wide variety of labeling and marketing assets.

Jean’s hopes were not high when she decided to trial Designity. She was concerned that our remote model versus being hands-on would delay timelines and create unnecessary friction. 

After an easy onboarding process, Boomerang was assigned creative director, Ruggero. After discussing their creative vision and the future of Boomerang water, Ruggero quickly assigned two creatives who best fit the first project. 

Jean was pleasantly surprised to find that because of the interchangeability of the creative team and their experienced creative director, they were able to complete all of their projects within just three short months. From beautiful bottle designs to eye-catching vinyl adhesive assets, Designity quickly became the perfect branding partner for Boomerang.

Hitting the bulls-eye.

Over the course of three months, Boomerang was able to really get a grip on their branding with the focus necessary to make thoughtful, long-term decisions. A big part of that comes down to Ruggero’s creative direction and his ability to keep everything on brand and true to the timelines. 

In the end, the executive team was thrilled with the work that Designity delivered and have said that it has been a game changer for their business. They now feel very confident and proud of the brand that they have created with Designity. 

Working with Designity has brought clarity to their vision and how they tell their story. Their commitment to sustainability is something that they feel can now be fully communicated through their branding. 

As Jean said, we are “design besties” now.
