About Really Great Reading: A Leader in Evidence-Based Literacy
Really Great Reading (RGR) empowers students to become confident, capable readers through evidence-based literacy programs rooted in the Science of Reading.
With decades of proven results, their team of educators and researchers transforms complex reading science into practical, easy-to-teach lessons that deliver real impact in the classroom.
They partner with schools and districts to make literacy success accessible to every learner, whether building strong reading foundations or supporting intervention programs for struggling readers.
Their systematic, research-driven approach ensures teachers can make a real difference with minimal training, helping students of all ages unlock the joy and power of reading.
The Challenge: Bringing a 2024 Rebrand to Life Across Every Digital Touchpoint
RGR kicked off a rebrand in 2024, but it quickly became clear that it wasn’t fully rolled out (or fully ready) to support their growing needs.
The look and feel were a strong start, but the identity wasn’t consistent across channels and the concept needed more refinement to stand out in a very crowded education market.
The goal was simple: Unifying a fragmented brand into a cohesive, high-performing digital experience across their website, product pages, landing pages, and emails.
But, of course, a few challenges stood in the way:
- Incomplete brand guidelines: The 2024 rebrand set a strong starting point, but several key components were still undefined. Iconography, presentation rules, layout hierarchy, and digital applications all needed clearer guidance to maintain consistency and support long-term scalability.
- Inconsistent brand rollout: The updated visual identity looked different, depending on where you landed like website, emails, social, or SEM. Basically, the experience wasn’t telling the same story everywhere.
- Limited cross-channel alignment: Even with the rebrand in place, it hadn’t been fully brought to life across web pages, landing pages, emails, and marketing materials. The gaps made the brand feel a bit uneven and disconnected.
- Mixed user experience across touchpoints: Pages and templates weren’t aligned visually or strategically, which made engagement harder and conversions less intuitive.
- A rebrand that needed more polish: The updated look didn't fully match where the company was heading. Competing with larger players required a more modern, crisp, and unified design system that felt intentional at every step.
Without strengthening and fully rolling out the 2024 rebrand, RGR risked confusing prospects and underselling the power of its evidence-based literacy programs.
The Solution: Strengthening Engagement, Conversions, and Brand Consistency Through Strategic Design
To fully activate and expand its 2024 rebrand, Really Great Reading partnered with Designity. A dedicated creative team led strategy and execution:
- Medi Farshidfar: Creative Director
- Farhad Darian: Pro Designer

Together, they helped Really Great Reading expand and refine their 2024 rebrand, turning it into a cohesive, modern identity consistently applied across web, email, and key marketing assets.
Through Designity’s Creative-as-a-Service model, the team delivered both strategy and execution:
- Website & Homepage Enhancements: Applied the refreshed brand direction across key website pages by improving layout, hierarchy, and overall UX. This work drew on our website design strengths and broader brand strategy to create a more consistent, intuitive experience.

- Product Page Optimization: Improved product pages by tightening the copy structure, refining the hero imagery, and applying updated brand elements for more clarity and consistency. These adjustments helped the pages communicate value faster and create a more cohesive on-brand experience.

- Landing Page Refinement: Strengthened landing pages with clearer, keyword-aligned headline suggestions, improved copy structure, and a refreshed design template. We also optimized layouts for both desktop and mobile, ensuring faster readability and a smoother user experience across devices.

- Email Newsletter Template Design: Created modern, mobile-friendly templates for both marketing emails and newsletters, blending refreshed brand visuals with improved readability and structure to support stronger engagement.

How Designity Worked with Really Great Reading: From Conception to Creation
Designity’s work with Really Great Reading followed a simple, collaborative flow that helped us shape, refine, and roll out their refreshed brand across key digital channels.
Here’s how it all went down:
Phase 1: Research and Competitive Review
We began with an in-depth review of competitors and leaders in the literacy and EdTech space.
Together with RGR’s marketing team, we identified what was working, what wasn’t, and where RGR could differentiate visually and strategically.
Phase 2: Moodboards to Explore Creative Directions
Next, we developed moodboards exploring typography, layouts, colors, and overall tone.
We reviewed these collaboratively with their internal marketing team to ensure the direction felt both engaging for educators and families and polished enough for school districts.
This step aligned us creatively before moving into full design.
Phase 3: First-Round Designs Across Key Assets
Once we all agreed on the direction, we rolled up our sleeves and started designing the key pieces: the homepage, product pages, landing pages, and emails.
We checked in regularly with the RGR team to make sure the design system was taking shape in a way that felt right for their users and their marketing strategy.
Phase 4: Collaborative Testing and Feedback
Once designs were ready, we reviewed them with both RGR’s internal team and our own creative team.
These feedback cycles helped us fine-tune layouts, messaging clarity, and visual consistency before final production.
Phase 5: Final Adjustments and Pre-Launch Prep
After incorporating feedback from RGR and our own creative team, we polished the final assets and ensured everything worked smoothly across devices.
We then prepared each piece for implementation on the website, email platform, and marketing channels.
