About Right at School: A Leader in Safe, Engaging Out-of-School Programs
Right At School enriches students’ lives beyond the bell by creating joyful, engaging spaces where learning and growth continue outside the traditional school day.
Rooted in a commitment to whole-child development, their programs transform out-of-school time into meaningful experiences that build confidence, connection, and curiosity, while giving families the support and flexibility they need.
Partnering closely with schools and districts, Right At School offers Before and After School programs, Discovery Clubs, Break Camps, and Summer Camps that feel like a perfect extension of the school community.
With safe, structured, and play-filled environments led by caring educators, they ensure students thrive socially, emotionally, and academically, allowing schools to stay focused on what matters most.
The Challenge: Scaling a Fast-Moving, Seasonal Brand with a Lean Creative Team
Growing programs meant growing creative demands.
With campaigns, parent communications, and seasonal surges increasing each year, Right At School’s internal design resources were no longer enough to support fast, consistent execution.
The goal was simple: Build a flexible, scalable creative solution that could support a wide range of digital and print needs while giving internal teams time back to focus on bigger initiatives.
But several challenges stood in the way:
- Limited internal capacity: A small design team struggled to balance daily production with larger strategic projects.
- Highly variable workloads: Creative needs fluctuated sharply throughout the year. With strict budgeting requirements, Right At School needed support that could scale up or down quickly, not a fixed retainer model.
- Inconsistent project throughput: Competing priorities meant timelines often shifted, projects sometimes stalled, and promising opportunities had to be postponed or declined.
- Fragmented cross-channel support: Flyers, emails, ads, parent communications, and district outreach required constant creative output, making it difficult to maintain consistency or momentum.
- Team burnout and reduced efficiency: Designers were stretched thin juggling small recurring requests alongside major seasonal campaigns, leading to bottlenecks and slower execution.
- A need for a partner who felt internal: Right At School needed more than production help. They needed a team that understood their brand, adapted to shifting priorities, and integrated seamlessly into their workflow and communication channels.
Without a scalable creative solution, Right At School risked slowing communication with families, delaying seasonal launches, and missing key engagement moments with schools and districts.
The Solution: Creating a Scalable, Always-On Creative Pipeline to Support Rapid Growth
To meet rising creative demands and improve delivery speed, Right At School partnered with Designity. A dedicated creative team managed execution across channels:
- Simon F: Creative Director
- Nadia X: Branding / Graphic Designer
- Sydney L: Illustrator / Graphic Designer
- Oscar P: Video / Motion Graphics
Together, they provided the flexible resourcing and on-brand creative consistency the organization needed, supporting both everyday communications and intensive seasonal campaigns across multiple programs.
As part of the partnership, Simon acted as a true “temperature gauge” for the account.
During weekly check-ins, he asked thoughtful questions about upcoming priorities, seasonal pushes, and potential bottlenecks, then recommended how many creatives the team would need — and when to scale them back.
He made these calls weeks in advance, allowing Right At School to trust his guidance and plan confidently through fluctuating workloads.
Through Designity’s Creative-as-a-Service model, the team delivered adaptable, production-focused support:
- Multichannel Asset Production: Designed flyers, notifications, brochures, digital ads, and B2B/B2C outreach materials to support after-school programs, Discovery Clubs, Break Camps, and ongoing communication with families and districts. This ensured every touchpoint felt joyful, clear, and consistently on brand.

- Email & Campaign Design: Designed weekly newsletters (based on existing templates), parent updates, re-enrollment reminders, and seasonal campaign assets for Winter Break, Spring Break, Discovery Clubs, and the 10-week Summer Camp series. These visuals helped keep families informed, build excitement, and support program enrollment throughout the year.

- Landing Page & Web Design Development: Designed and developed landing pages and web layouts in WordPress, ensuring each build aligned with Right At School’s brand and campaign goals. This included creating supporting graphics, refining layouts, and producing digital elements that enhanced clarity and user experience.

- Video & Motion Graphic Support: Produced edited videos and motion-based assets to enhance campaign storytelling and elevate program promotions. This allowed the brand to engage families and school partners with more dynamic, compelling content.
How Designity Worked with Right At School: From Request to Delivery
Designity’s partnership with Right At School followed an efficient, collaborative workflow designed to handle fluctuating workloads, fast turnaround needs, and a wide variety of creative requests across programs and seasons.
Here’s how it all went down:
Phase 1: Intake, Prioritization, and Planning
Each project began with a detailed brief submitted through Designity’s portal.
During weekly check-ins, Simon reviewed priorities, asked about upcoming program pushes or slowdowns, and identified where additional creative support might be needed.
This kept planning proactive and resourcing aligned with real-time needs.
Phase 2: Clarifying Direction and Scoping Assets
Once a request was approved, the team clarified objectives, key messages, and required formats.
For larger initiatives like Right At School’s Discovery Clubs or seasonal Break Camps, Designity aligned with the internal team on themes, templates, and brand expectations before design began, ensuring a clear direction from the start.
Phase 3: First-Round Designs Across Key Deliverables
With direction confirmed, the creative team produced first-round designs across the required assets, whether flyers, emails, digital ads, web pages, or video elements.
These early drafts helped confirm tone, visual direction, and brand alignment before scaling production for full seasonal campaigns.
Phase 4: Collaborative Review and Feedback Cycles
All work was shared through a dedicated Miro board with Hive ID tagging for easy internal tracking.
Feedback was exchanged quickly through Slack and weekly calls, allowing for fast iteration and refinement across layouts, messaging clarity, and visual consistency.
Phase 5: Final Revisions and Launch-Ready Delivery
After incorporating feedback from both teams, Designity polished the final assets and prepared them for implementation, whether for print, email platforms, district outreach, or WordPress web deployment.
This ensured each piece was ready for real-world use during enrollment cycles, seasonal campaigns, and everyday program communication.
The Results & Impact: Higher Output, Time & Money Saved, and a Team That Felt In-House
Designity helped Right At School boost its creative capacity, speed up production, and keep year-round communications running smoothly, all without adding pressure or headcount to their internal team.
Over time, the partnership delivered some meaningful wins:
- 599 Total Creative Projects Completed: Between July 2024 and December 2025, Right At School completed 599 creative projects tracked in Hive. Many of these required design support, and Designity helped move a large share of that work from kickoff to completion.
- 140 Designity-Owned Projects Completed: Of that total, Designity directly handled 140 creative projects, contributing significantly to the organization’s overall output across digital, print, email, and web.
- 24 Hours of Internal Design Time Freed Up Per Month: By taking on day-to-day production needs, Designity saved the internal creative team approximately 24 hours each month, allowing them to focus on larger brand initiatives and higher-level strategic priorities.
- ~20–30% Increase in Creative Output Across Channels: By offloading creative work to Designity, the team increased overall creative output by an estimated 20–30%, producing more flyers, emails, landing pages, videos, and campaign assets without reducing scope or pushing launch dates.
- 1 Full-Time Designer’s Worth of Capacity Added: Without Designity’s support, Right At School would have needed to hire at least one additional seasoned senior creative to meet demand across design, video, and landing page work.
- Lower Annual Cost Than Hiring In-House: A comparable in-house hire with a similar multi-disciplinary skill set would cost an estimated $120,000+ annually in US salary alone, excluding benefits, onboarding, and training. By comparison, Right At School is on Designity’s Premium plan at approximately $108,000 per year ($8,995/month), gaining flexible access to additional creative expertise without the overhead of hiring or people management.
- A Team That Felt Truly In-House: Weekly check-ins, a dedicated Slack channel, and Simon’s proactive guidance built a strong sense of trust. The team relied on his advice to plan ahead, and fast Slack responses made collaboration seamless. Designity’s creatives deeply understood the brand, anticipated needs, and collaborated with the speed and intuition of an in-house team.
