Inside the Strategic Rebrand that Gave Werking Health Its Unique Brand Voice

Branding is everything when it comes to building trust and credibility, especially in a field as personal as mental health.

Werking Health is dedicated to providing comprehensive mental healthcare with a strong emphasis on inclusivity. But while that mission was clear to them, their visual identity just wasn’t doing enough to reflect those values to the public.

Founder and psychiatric Nurse Practitioner Garrison Kingston knew it was time to update the Werking Health identity to something more professional, ownable, and reflective of the people they served, but without an in-house design team or creative expertise, it seemed an impossible task.

The Challenge: Turning Generic Branding into a Distinct Identity

Without a creative team, Werking Health struggled to create a professional-looking and distinct brand identity that truly reflected its mission and resonated with clients.

Werking Health had a strong mission and a clear understanding of their clientele, but their whole brand identity needed an overhaul, starting right with its logo.

The clinic’s original logo had been created on a budget using an outdated stock asset, making it non-exclusive and much less likely to stand out in the competitive mental health space. 

On top of a new logo, Werking Health also needed updated business collateral. Without an in-house designer on board, however, creating the polished and cohesive brand they needed felt out of reach. And indistinct branding wasn’t just a design issue — their inconsistent visuals were making it harder to build trust and present the practice in the best possible light, and a lack of clear branding meant missing opportunities to connect with new clients.

Outsourcing the design work was the obvious solution, but they were hesitant. 

Would an external partner be able to take Garrison’s vision, refine his ideas, and bring them to life in a unique way that felt authentic to Werking Health’s values?

The Solution: Expert Creative Support

Werking Health partnered with Designity to create a unique, professional brand identity and high-quality business collateral that aligned with their mission and set them apart.

Rather than struggle with their branding on their own, Werking Health decided to take a chance on partnering with an external creative and marketing services provider.

The Approach: A Collaborative and Strategic Rebrand

Designity led Werking Health through a structured, creative process to develop a cohesive brand identity and professional business collateral.

The brand overhaul started with a deep dive into their identity, values, and goals. 

Werking Health wished to hold onto some elements of their original logo —specifically, the brain and the colorful imagery that they felt represented both mental health and the diversity of their clientele. It just needed to be made their own.

To better understand their vision, Creative Director (CD) Sitara D. facilitated a color psychology workshop to explore how different colors could support the brand's message and overall feel. She also presented multiple mood board options, which allowed Werking Health to see different creative directions while they decided on their new color palette, logo, and branding.

Once the direction was chosen, CD Sitara developed a comprehensive and flexible logo system that was designed to work across all of Werking Health’s platforms, all the while making sure to align these new visuals with the clinic’s core business objectives — making sure that every design choice was reinforcing the brand’s commitment to inclusivity, professionalism, and credibility. 

The final logo is a modern take on their previous brain and side profile theme. The left side reflects the emotional state before seeking help — abstract lines, chaotic, and restless — while the right side transitions into calming greens and an upward arrow that symbolizes the progress, clarity, and a more positive outlook. A custom animated version of the logo, produced by Motion Designer Amanda, further reinforced this theme and brought the design to life.

Once the logo system and color palette were finalized, the team moved on to building out the rest of the brand's fresh new look. With CD Sitara acting as both Creative Director and designer, a full suite of business collateral was developed using the new branding, including:

  • Letterheads
  • PowerPoint templates
  • Business cards
  • Posters
  • Pamphlets

All assets were designed to not only catch the eye of prospective clients but also to be professional and consistent with their new color palette.

Throughout the process, CD Sitara provided hands-on art direction to keep the new visual identity consistent and aligned with Werking Health's values and goals. In addition to her expert creative leadership, Garrison also appreciated her responsiveness, consistent updates, and clear communication, which played a key role in making sure that all finished assets were true to Werking Health’s vision.

This close collaboration helped the Werking Health team feel confident in each step of their rebrand. By the second project, they felt comfortable enough to take a step back and let CD Sitara take the lead, streamlining the workflow and delivering more high-quality results.
