So many requests, not enough time.
This is why Patrick Davis, Smokeball’s digital designer decided to look into various creative services to streamline Smokeball’s design pipeline.
Last year, Smokeball experienced a lot of project growth but they did not have the internal bandwidth to support their goals. They looked into several design options like creative agencies and freelance marketplaces but found the agencies too expensive for their needs and freelance marketplaces unreliable in terms of quality.
Patrick also found that working on a project by project basis with creatives was adding more strain to their already stretched bandwidth. They needed a solution that would take the burden of hiring and managing creatives off of their hands while also offering a wide enough scope of services to support their project needs.
This is when Patrick found Designity.

Initially, Patrick was worried that Designity wouldn’t have a wide enough scope of services to support their project needs. That concern was quickly dispelled during their detailed onboarding process. While the onboarding was very hands-on, Patrick mentioned that speaking with the team felt like speaking with old friends.

The verdict is in.

So, what does the future look like for Smokeball and Designity?
Patrick says that they will keep the projects coming in and wants to expand their asks to include larger projects like video animation and web development.
